About the Role

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of carrying people and payloads to various orbits. You will be part of the Hardware-in-the-Loop software team, impacting design, development, and testing of software used to 'fly' rockets on mission operations without leaving the launchpad, engaging with multiple development teams, and building frameworks and tools for spaceflight systems integration and automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Training LLMs, neural nets, or other ML models
  • Support AI development of your peers
  • Develop software solutions for New Glenn's Hardware-in-the-Loop lab
  • Support integrations of the latest New Glenn ground systems and vehicle avionics
  • Support milestones for payload tests, static fire tests, and launch prep

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in engineering
  • 2+ years of experience with AI development including Neural Nets, LLMs, cv, optimizers, etc.
  • Familiarity with Prompt Engineering
  • Familiarity with Linux and other Unix-style operating systems
  • Experience with higher-level programming languages such as Python, C/C++
  • Experience coding against Restful APIs
  • Strong software development skills and debugging
  • Deep understanding of software engineering principles and design patterns
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Nice to Have

  • Experience training LLMs, Neural Nets, ML models
  • Experience assembling Agentic Workflows
  • Knowledge of Automation Frameworks
  • Knowledge of DevOps Systems
  • Knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure

  • Educational background includes a B.S. degree in engineering
