About the Role

PicnicHealth is simplifying clinical research with AI, making it faster and cheaper to get new treatments to patients. We're bringing a patient-centered, AI-first approach to a $100b market otherwise dominated by old-school, services-driven incumbents. We're creating a streamlined operating system for clinical research, built on top of our AI for medical record data in trials and a personal health assistant that keeps patients engaged (NPS 76). Founded in 2014, PicnicHealth has raised over $100 million from investors including YC, Amplify Partners, Felicis Ventures and B Capital Group. Our business running observational studies more than doubled last year and we expect to grow even faster this year. We've gained traction in a conservative industry: 12 of the top 20 pharma companies use PicnicHealth, we've published over 60 papers across 40 disease areas, and we recently received our first FDA approval including our data in the submission.

Key Responsibilities

Discover, test, and deploy AI SaaS products: Rapidly evaluate tools and roll out those that provide immediate impact.
Build streamlined workflows and agents: Use no-code/low-code platforms (Retool, Gumloop, Zapier) or deploy quick Python/TypeScript services on platforms like Cloud Run or Vercel when needed.
Integrate widely-used tools: Ensure seamless integration of PicnicHealth sources of context, e.g., Asana, Gmail, Slack, GitHub, Google Drive, Linear, BigQuery, PostgreSQL, Salesforce.
Own reliability and performance: Actively monitor and ensure the uptime of AI-driven workflows. When something breaks, you'll know first.
Drive adoption: View success as the tools you deploy being adopted and driving their intended outcomes.
Educate and empower: Lead practical workshops, regular office hours, and develop internal resources so every teammate confidently becomes an AI power user.
Stay ahead of the curve: Keep PicnicHealth at the forefront by continually testing and iterating with new tools and practices.

Requirements

Have a CS background or equivalent experience with demonstrated ability to ship practical, functional projects quickly.
Prototype ideas using LLMs and automation tools as naturally as breathing.
Can spin up a small web service but prefer rapid solutions or SaaS tools that avoid unnecessary complexity.
Care most about delivering business successes, and enjoy making others more effective.
Take pride in digging into the details of messy & sometimes mundane business processes to make sure you deliver real value.
Are plugged into AI spaces (Twitter/X, Discord) and can separate the signal from the noise.
Follow The Way of Code, and believe people should apply vibing to many parts of life beyond coding.
Have excellent judgment, strong communication skills, and a bias for action.

Nice to Have

Hackathon background
Experience with Retool (or similar low/no-code tools)
Knowledge of vector databases
Comfort with regulated data environments

Qualifications
