Job Description

About the Role

This position supports IT Services and the university community through the development, testing, implementation and maintenance of custom applications, integrations, and automations. It involves providing guidance on design and setup of cloud hosting, storage, and development environments, maintaining expertise in various programming languages and frameworks, and collaborating with campus partners and other IT staff to ensure scalable, sustainable solutions that meet security, accessibility, and user experience standards. The role promotes a healthy work-life balance within a vibrant university environment committed to education, research, and outreach at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports the development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of custom applications, integrations, and automations.
  • Provides input on the design and setup of cloud hosting, storage, and development environments.
  • Collaborates with other developers on coding projects, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
  • Works with security, accessibility, and user experience experts to ensure applications meet standards.
  • Creates and maintains documentation and training materials.
  • Follows standard change, service, and project management processes.
  • Maintains regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance and fosters collegial, harmonious working relationships.

Requirements

  • Experience with a variety of programming languages.
  • At least 2 years of experience with computer programming.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a project and team-oriented environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree.
  • Higher Education experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with PCI DSS standards and payment card processing.
  • Experience with ASP, Azure (Web Apps, App Service, DevOps), C#, CSS, Git, HTML, Javascript, Microsoft Web Forms, .NET Framework, SQL, SQL Server, SQL Stored Procedures, Visual Basic (6 and .NET), Visual Studio.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in computer programming.
  • Experience with multiple programming languages.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
