Applications Developer (Software Development Engineer)

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Transform business requests into application requirements and technical designs.
• Develop, debug, test, and deploy ABAP code to SAP production systems.
• Integrate software components or third-party programs with SAP, supporting 3rd party and other integrations.
• Support and rework SAP customizations within TI's ERP system as needed.
• Develop custom applications, interfaces, and screens for various TI business units.
• Ensure SAP integration techniques such as SAP Gateway and web services are properly used.
• Perform technical code reviews and document programs and requirements using Solution Manager.
• Work with IT analysts to define test scenarios and verify ABAP changes.
• Provide expert support during testing and post-go-live phases.
• Utilize APIs to extend, integrate, or build new solutions within SAP.
• Customize SAP ECC, GTS, and related systems to support TI's specific business processes.
• Support processes in SAP GTS to ensure compliance with US Government practices and laws.
• Identify code to remove during system sunset and assess impacted processes.
• Mentor new college graduates in ABAP programming.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
• 5 years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience in SAP ABAP development.
• Experience developing code for SAP ECC, SAP GTS, and SAP Process Orchestration and APIs.
• Experience performing technical code reviews and testing.
• Experience documenting program requirements in Solution Manager.
• Experience utilizing Charm for code deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in SAP ABAP development.
