  • Take ownership of the end-to-end scientific process: problem framing, data exploration, model development, evaluation, and deployment.
  • Work on high-impact initiatives including response prediction, content selection, attribution modeling, and experimentation design.
  • Build and enhance causal measurement, optimization, and prediction models for Amazon's global marketing budget.
  • Collaborate with teams to develop scientific roadmaps, drive innovation, and influence resource allocation decisions.
  • Innovate scalable marketing methodologies using causal inference and machine learning.
  • Develop interpretable models that provide actionable business insights.
  • Collaborate with engineers to automate and scale scientific solutions.
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure effective adoption of scientific products.
  • Present findings to the Amazon Science community to promote excellence and knowledge-sharing.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience building models for business applications.
  • PhD, or Master's degree with 4+ years of experience in CS, CE, ML, or related fields.
  • Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
  • Proficiency in programming in Java, C++, Python, or related languages.
  • Experience with algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, or high-performance computing.

Nice to Have

  • Experience using Unix/Linux.
  • Experience in professional software development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS, CE, ML, or related field (implied by experience requirements).
  • 3+ years of relevant model-building experience or 4+ years with a Master's degree.

Benefits & Perks

  • Full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
  • Competitive salary ranging from $136,000 to $223,400 depending on location and experience.
  • Equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total package.
