Art Director - Video & Motion Design

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Translate brand narratives into compelling content tailored to distinct audience segments and platform behaviors.
• Maintain high-quality standards across all motion and video outputs, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and proper formatting for each platform.
• Concept, design, and animate paid social media and video assets across channels such as Meta, TikTok, and YouTube, ensuring alignment with platform trends and brand strategy.
• Create static and animated banner ads (e.g., HTML5, GIF) for paid media campaigns across display networks.
• Own video editing needs for owned digital channels like the website, email, and in-store screens, supporting brand storytelling and performance goals.
• Develop modular video and motion templates for streamlined versioning and rapid campaign adaptation.
• Partner with marketers, designers, copywriters, and external vendors to bring integrated campaigns and storytelling moments to life.
• Manage workload priorities using project management tools, communicate timelines and risks, and establish best practices for file management and asset delivery.
• Stay current with motion design and social media trends, propose new creative approaches, and educate others to push creative boundaries.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Video Editing, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in video editing and motion design, ideally within an agency environment.
• Strong portfolio showcasing video and motion design work with high taste-level and clear storytelling.
• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator), HTML5, Frame.io, and DaVinci Resolve; proficiency in Adobe Experience Cloud preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Figma and experience working within design systems.
• Ability to concept and execute motion design from scratch with a strong eye for typography and graphic design.
• Deep experience and understanding of digital video best practices for social media and owned & operated platforms.
• Comfortable using project management tools (Workfront preferred) to manage workload and meet deadlines.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and an excellent communicator.

Nice to Have

• Experience working within design systems.
• Proficiency in Adobe Experience Cloud.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Video Editing or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in video editing and motion design.
