About the Role

Zelis is modernizing the healthcare financial experience in the United States (U.S.) across payers, providers, and healthcare consumers. Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain Python-based applications and scripts for various use cases.
Collaborate with senior engineers to design, implement, and test software solutions.
Write reusable, testable, and efficient code in Python.
Contribute to developing RESTful APIs and integrations with third-party services.
Assist in data manipulation and data processing tasks, ensuring data quality and consistency.
Work with version control systems (Git) to manage codebase.
Follow coding best practices, code reviews, and participate in pair programming sessions.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing Python applications or systems.
Document code and processes, ensuring clarity for future modifications and team collaboration.
Participate in daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives as part of an Agile team.
Stay current with Python programming language and industry best practices.

Requirements

Experience developing and maintaining Python applications and scripts.
Ability to collaborate with team members and contribute to software design and testing.
Proficiency in writing reusable, testable, and efficient code in Python.
Experience with developing RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
Familiarity with data manipulation and data processing tasks.
Knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git.
Understanding of coding best practices and participation in code reviews.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in Python applications.
Good documentation skills and ability to communicate technical details clearly.
Experience working in an Agile environment, participating in standups and planning.

Nice to Have

Experience with Python industry best practices and staying current with language updates.
Experience working in healthcare or financial technology sectors.
Knowledge of additional programming languages or frameworks.

Qualifications

Proven experience in Python development.
