The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Associate Software Engineer to support our Cobalt Charger team located in Herndon, VA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security business organization. The role involves developing mission-critical software for modern microservice architectures, primarily using C++ and Java, to produce custom navigation solutions in demanding environments. The candidate will collaborate with the Boeing Software Enterprise to embrace software best practices, standards, and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Develop software source code, unit tests, and documentation for assigned tasking
Participate in daily Scrum team meetings for tasking status and prioritization
Perform peer code reviews and software checkouts
Perform software design reviews and create tasking backlog
Perform software testing and defect tracking

Requirements

3+ years of experience in C++ microservice development, Java data services, or CI/CD pipeline implementation
Active TS / SCI security clearance
Experience with software development, testing, and documentation
Ability to work onsite at Herndon, VA
Basic understanding of microservice architecture and software best practices

Nice to Have

Experience with containerized applications and the Kubernetes orchestration environment
Experience with the Robot Operating System (ROS2) application framework
Experience with publish/subscribe data flow architectures
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
