Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop control systems for custom automated assembly and test equipment, from concept through customer acceptance.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and high-tech customers.
  • Architect, write, simulate, and debug ladder logic for Allen-Bradley PLCs following industry standards, emphasizing quality and system reliability.
  • Create operator interfaces using Allen-Bradley FactoryTalk and Ignition platforms.
  • Program, simulate, and deploy Fanuc robots, including SCARA and high-payload 6-axis systems, for complex automation tasks.
  • Develop and integrate machine vision solutions using Keyence, Cognex In-Sight, and Cognex VisionPro for inspection, alignment, and guidance.
  • Lead commissioning and debugging of prototype systems incorporating motion control, robotics, I/O, HMIs, lasers, conveyors, feeders, and precision systems.
  • Support validation, final acceptance, and global deployment of automation systems, providing remote and onsite support as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.S.E.) with a focus in Controls, Computer Control Systems, Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Controls or Robotics Engineer working with automation or electromechanical systems in industrial environments.
  • Advanced skills in programming industrial control systems, including Allen-Bradley RSLogix 5000 / Studio 5000 and HMI/GUI development (e.g., AB PanelView, Ignition).
  • Proficiency with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Profinet, and Safety-rated Fieldbus networks.
  • Broad exposure to factory automation and production systems, with robotics programming experience across Cartesian, SCARA, and articulated systems (Fanuc, Denso, ABB).
  • Experience with machine vision technologies including Cognex, Keyence, and Fanuc vision systems.
  • Strong understanding of electromechanical and mechatronic systems, electrical codes, and industrial safety standards.
  • This is an on-site role requiring direct collaboration with engineering and production teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with PC-based (.NET) automation software.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety standards and electrical codes.
  • Experience in system integration and troubleshooting complex automation systems.
