About the Role

The Brand Marketing Manager - Wine Innovation at E. & J. Gallo Winery is responsible for managing multiple brand-building initiatives with significant business impact, including new brand introductions and optimizations. The role involves overseeing marketing strategies, developing consumer insights, managing budgets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive brand growth within a global portfolio of wine and spirits brands. Gallo is the largest family-owned winery in the world, committed to innovation and growth in the wine industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple brand-building initiatives that have significant business impact, including new brand introductions and optimizations.
  • Ensure marketing plans are aligned with brand objectives and company growth and profit goals.
  • Own day-to-day management of A&P budget and support P&L management with the Director.
  • Contribute to brand development including BSP development, brand architecture, and consumer experience creation.
  • Manage the Brand Universe and ensure all communication aligns with it.
  • Identify opportunities through competitive analysis and develop action plans.
  • Leverage pricing strategies to improve GMAA and brand health outcomes.
  • Optimize the brand portfolio for short-term profitability and long-term brand health.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies in partnership with sales and distributors.
  • Evaluate activation tools and channel feedback through market visits and consumer insights.
  • Develop consumer insights and translate data into meaningful consumer POVs.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of Brand Story and Visual Guidelines.
  • Create creative briefs and partner with SMEs and leadership on communication strategies.
  • Set measurement and learning plans for campaigns and optimize based on results.

Requirements

  • Master's degree plus 3 years of brand marketing or new brand development experience, or Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time in-market and during team collaboration weeks.
  • Knowledge of retail and on-premise channels.
  • Experience managing multiple external agencies.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen.
  • Ability to influence management and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with a sense of urgency.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree plus 5 years of experience or Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of experience in brand marketing or new brand development.
  • Experience launching or introducing new brands or line extensions.
  • Experience managing a P&L.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
  • Alcohol beverage industry experience.
  • Solid understanding of the 3-tier distribution system.
