About the Role

The Business Intelligence Analyst - Real Estate Investments is a key member of the ReCap Real Estate Investments team within RGA Reinsurance Group of America, a global leader in life reinsurance. The role involves providing technological solutions to support the full life cycle of commercial mortgage loans and joint ventures, including analysis, design, and development of BI reporting tools. The position acts as a liaison between the business and IT teams to ensure alignment with corporate strategies and supports data needs through custom data extracts and ad-hoc reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate and elicit business requirements for reporting and dashboard design and translate these requirements into technical specifications. Conduct structured walk-throughs of requirements with business and project team members.
  • Design and development of canned, custom, and ad-hoc commercial mortgage loan reports to support origination, underwriting, asset management, accounting, and servicing groups utilizing in-house BI reporting tools including SSRS, Power Queries, Power Pivots, and Cube Reporting.
  • Design and development of Tableau and Power BI dashboards to support both the real estate and investment areas.
  • Analyze and extract commercial mortgage loan data to support key performance information, trends, data audits, and portfolio management data analytics.
  • Identify business opportunities to improve and streamline operational processes through technology solutions.
  • Participate in special projects involving onboarding data into commercial mortgage loan and joint venture systems.
  • Design and develop test plans for reporting requests following SDLC processes.
  • Develop and update report documentation and utilize deployment tools to migrate reports across environments.
  • Train real estate business users on the commercial mortgage loan reporting environment to support self-service reporting.
  • Assess current data use of the commercial mortgage loan system and provide performance improvements, including data clean-up, working with IT teams.
  • Assist with coordination and facilitation of SOX and internal audit testing, providing audit reporting as needed.
  • Train and mentor team members in reporting and analytics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent related work experience.
  • 5+ years in Business Intelligence and data warehousing areas.
  • 5+ years in programming and system analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge of BI tools including SSRS, SSAS (Multi-dimensional and Tabular), DAX, and SSIS.
  • Advanced SQL/query skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of SharePoint, Visio, and Microsoft Access.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Tableau and Power BI.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate level of people management skills, including leading, mentoring, and developing associates.
  • Advanced investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new methods and work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions.
  • Broad business knowledge, including investments and/or financial lending.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in Commercial Real Estate Finance.
  • Working knowledge of Loan Management Systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence and data warehousing.
  • 5+ years in programming and system analysis.
