About the Role

The Cash Application Manager will oversee daily cash management operations, including transactions, cash flow, bank account balance management, and report preparation. The role requires ensuring all cash management strategies align with the latest policies and procedures. The manager will also build and maintain relationships with banking institutions, manage organizational bank accounts, liaise with banks for prompt resolution of queries or issues, and ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, procedures, and regulations related to cash management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily cash posting operations for 8-10 dedicated Cash App Specialists.
  • Maintain accurate financial records using Oracle, JDE, and spreadsheets.
  • Process daily cash applications, including Wire, ACH, and ACH Debit payments.
  • Communicate with customers and internal teams to identify and resolve unapplied payments.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to assist in monthly, quarterly, and yearly balancing.
  • Identify and resolve payment discrepancies promptly.
  • Generate and process reports as requested by management.
  • Work closely with finance, accounting, and collections teams to ensure accurate financial data and timely resolution of issues.
  • Perform light general ledger tasks and reconciliations.
  • Assist with AR cleanup efforts to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline cash application processes, reduce errors, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Manage a queue of customer refund requests for overpayments and provide accurate validation of cash receipt and eligibility for refund.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Cash application expertise.
  • Reconciliation skills.
  • Accounts receivable knowledge.
  • Cash posting experience.
  • Understanding of cash flow and bank account balance management.
  • Proficiency in Oracle.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cash applications and accounts receivable.
  • Minimum of 3 years of management/leadership experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with cash applications, collections, AR aging, and domestic cash transactions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel (LOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
  • Familiarity with Oracle Fusion software is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Oracle Fusion software.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred).

Working at Aston Carter

The work environment is a professional office setting. The role begins with a two-week onsite period, Monday through Friday, followed by a hybrid schedule with three days in the office.
