About the Role

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Creative Designer to join our in-house creative team. This role is responsible for developing compelling, brand-aligned visual assets across digital and print platforms to support marketing, communications, and brand strategy efforts. The ideal candidate is a visual storyteller with a strong design sensibility, technical proficiency, and a passion for healthcare's positive impact on children and families. As part of the Creative Content team, this role understands how to execute brand and marketing creative from conception to delivery of marketing materials, event promotions, philanthropy campaigns, websites, digital signage, environmental displays, print pieces, conference materials and experiences, executive presentations, and other projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design process management: Tackling JIRA tasks submitted by Institutional Advancement team members, business partners, and marketing, while overseeing the quality and timeliness of deliverables, and managing multiple projects from conceptualization through delivery.
  • Design thinking: Applying design thinking to explore, define, and communicate ideas through sketches, comps, competitive analysis, and other artifacts to create impactful experiences.
  • Design strategy: Developing systems thinking, establishing processes to foster collaboration among Design, Brand, Marketing, and Institutional Advancement teams, and contributing to strategic growth and brand consistency across platforms.
  • Visual storytelling: Creating clear, persuasive stories for diverse audiences, including donors and community stakeholders, using methods like storyboards, mood boards, prototypes, and infographics.
  • Brand standards & web conformance: Ensuring all assets comply with brand standards and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (Section 508).
  • Brand identity development: Creating and unifying content marketing, visual design, and user experience to deliver a holistic brand experience, including accessible templates for internal teams.
  • Agile practice: Participating in an Agile team environment, tracking and adopting Agile principles such as estimating time, tracking production in JIRA, and engaging in reviews and retrospectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a creative, graphic, or visual design field.
  • 3+ years of work experience in a creative or visual design role.
  • Extremely proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud software (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office platform (PowerPoint, Word).
  • Ability to work from low to high fidelity, creating layouts and digital assets for web, social media, print, signage, environments, and email.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects with aggressive deadlines.
  • Knowledge of print production processes, digital asset production, and familiarity with digital signage systems.
  • Experience working within established brand and style guides, and maintaining collaborative file structures.
  • Ability to understand business and branding objectives, user goals, and deliver multiple innovative ideas quickly.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of digital signage display control software, image/video inventory, equipment, and network infrastructure.

  • Educational background in creative, graphic, or visual design (implied by degree requirement).
