About the Role

Chevron is seeking a visionary and results-driven leader to join our Trading Analytics team. This high-impact role is pivotal in shaping the analytical strategy that underpins Chevron's global trading operations. The successful candidate will lead a team of analysts, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and cross-regional collaboration. This leader will drive greater value creation through delivering actionable & profitable insights as well as championing the use of advanced digital tools and models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspire and lead a high-performing team of analysts, setting clear expectations and cultivating a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and innovation.
  • Drive strategic insight generation by overseeing the analysis of market fundamentals, pricing structures, trade flows, and competitor activity to inform trading strategies and unlock commercial opportunities.
  • Foster global collaboration by partnering with Commercial Analysts and Traders across Houston, Singapore, and London to align on arbitrage strategies, supply/demand modeling, and market positioning.
  • Advance analytical capabilities by guiding the development and deployment of deterministic and dynamic models that identify and quantify trading opportunities across physical and financial markets.
  • Champion digital innovation by promoting the adoption of advanced analytics, machine learning, and predictive modeling to enhance trading performance and uncover untapped value.
  • Embed risk intelligence by integrating quantitative risk management methodologies into trading decisions and exposure strategies.
  • Promote continuous improvement by leading lookback reviews, evaluating forecast accuracy, and refining analytical approaches based on outcomes.
  • Strengthen market intelligence by cultivating a robust network of industry contacts and leveraging external insights to inform strategic direction.
  • Develop a culture of innovation & efficient ways of working by leading process improvements, optimizing digital workflows, and minimizing manual effort and duplication across teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in trading, market analytics, or related fields; prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of commodity markets (e.g., crude, natural gas, renewables, refined products) and the broader energy landscape.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, analytical rigor, and commercial acumen.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint; experience with Python or similar tools for data analysis and visualization is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proven ability to influence and collaborate across functions & geographies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a digital-first approach.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree (e.g., Master of Data Science, MBA) is a plus.
