About the Role

As a CTI Data Scientist on the Risk Office team at Fiserv, you will utilize your expertise in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling to uncover insights and develop predictive models that enhance our fraud rules. By collaborating with diverse teams, you will analyze extensive transactional data, detect patterns of fraudulent behavior, and continuously enhance our monitoring systems to safeguard our clients from evolving threats.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze vast datasets to detect trends, patterns, and anomalies indicating payment card compromises within a client's portfolio.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain predictive models and machine learning algorithms to strengthen fraud detection capabilities.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to optimize data pipelines, ensuring data quality for analysis.
  • Create visualizations and reports to convey results and insights to stakeholders in actionable terms.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science, machine learning, and fraud detection.
  • Participate in innovative brainstorming sessions to design solutions for fraud detection and prevention.
  • Contribute to documenting methodologies, algorithms, and processes for knowledge sharing and future reference.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field; Ph.D. is advantageous.
  • 3+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or statistical analysis, with a preference for the financial or payments industry.
  • Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and model development.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras) and data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
  • Familiarity with SQL for relational database querying and management.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical methods such as regression analysis, clustering, time series analysis, and classification.
  • Exceptional analytical skills for deriving insights from complex datasets.
  • Effective communication skills for conveying technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the financial or payments industry.
  • Knowledge of fraud detection systems and techniques.
  • Experience with cloud platforms or big data technologies.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field; Ph.D. is advantageous.
