Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Data Analytics Engineer to join the warranty and market quality division of an automotive manufacturer. The mission is to swiftly identify and resolve field quality problems to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain quality competitiveness. As a Data Engineer, you will review multiple data sources to evaluate, summarize, and draw conclusions, identifying trends that lead to countermeasure activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize engineering fundamentals to identify problems through various data sources such as Warranty, Telematics, Customer Relations, NHTSA, and Surveys.
  • Identify previously unrecognized data trends through a deep understanding of the data.
  • Support data cleaning to ensure proper classification of market problems.
  • Transform data using SQL, Python, and other tools to identify trends leading to actionable problems, and defend analysis to promote countermeasure activities.
  • Generate groupings to support identification and classification of market problems.
  • Utilize modeling, statistics, and trend analysis to forecast future failure rates for known issues.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in data analysis, SQL, Python, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and NumPy.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in data analytics or information analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to ensure data accuracy and defend analysis results.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and visual) for clear understanding of analysis.
  • Attention to detail and proficiency in query languages such as SQL.
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  • Prioritization skills for managing workload and making sound decisions.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data science toolkits such as R, Python, and NumPy.
  • Knowledge of data gathering, cleaning, and transforming techniques.
  • Business intelligence skills in Qlikview, Qlik Sense, and Power BI.
  • Applied statistics skills such as distributions, statistical testing, and regression.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Economics, or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
