Job Description

About the Role

The Data Scientist I applies foundational knowledge in machine learning, artificial intelligence, simulation, optimization, data engineering, and statistical modeling to create, examine, explain, implement, and report on data science solutions. The position handles large, complicated datasets to process and convert data into useful insights. The Data Scientist I is an important part of the team, supporting the strategic goals of OSF Healthcare. This role may offer full remote work, with in-office requirements for those living within 60 miles of the office, specifically on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The position does not offer H-1B sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, examine, explain, implement, and report on data science solutions using machine learning, AI, simulation, and statistical modeling.
  • Handle large, complex datasets to process and convert data into actionable insights.
  • Support the strategic goals of OSF Healthcare through data analysis and modeling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline or Master's Degree in a quantitative discipline with 2 years of experience applying advanced analytical methods to large complex datasets using Python or similar programming languages.
  • 6 years of experience applying advanced analytical methods to large complex datasets using Python or similar programming languages.
  • Epic Clarity data model fundamentals training and certification within 6 months of employment, with ongoing maintenance of certification.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

Nice to Have

  • 1 year of healthcare-related analytics experience.
  • 1 year of experience working within the EPIC data ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline or Master's Degree with relevant experience.
