About the Role

As a data scientist at Booz Allen, you will work on unlocking insights from complex data sets using your analytical skills and data science knowledge. You will help solve global challenges across private and public sectors by developing algorithms, systems, and models to turn data into actionable information. The role involves collaborating with clients to understand their needs and applying data science techniques to provide objective answers that support informed decision-making. The position emphasizes using data science for good in an environment that values impact and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with clients to understand their questions and needs related to data.
Analyze data-rich environments to identify relevant information and insights.
Develop algorithms and systems to process and interpret data sets.
Use appropriate tools and frameworks to convert disparate data points into objective answers.
Create predictive data models, perform quantitative analyses, and visualize targeted data sources.

Requirements

Experience with data exploration, data cleaning, data analysis, data visualization, software engineering or data mining.
Experience with statistical and general-purpose programming languages for data analysis, including Python.
Experience analyzing structured and unstructured data sources.
Experience developing predictive data models, quantitative analyses or visualization of targeted data sources, including machine learning models.
Knowledge of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Natural Language Processing.
Knowledge of text mining or machine learning techniques.
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
Bachelor's degree.

Nice to Have

2+ years of experience in the development of algorithms leveraging R, Python, or SQL and NoSQL.
2+ years of experience with Distributed data and computing tools, including MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, or MySQL.
2+ years of experience with Machine Learning, AI or NLP.
Experience with visualization packages, including Plotly, Seaborn, or ggplot2.
TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
Master's degree.

Master's degree (preferred).
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Total compensation includes salary, which ranges from $77,600 to $176,000 annually, depending on various factors.
