About the Role
As a data scientist, you're excited at the prospect of unlocking the secrets held by a data set, and you're fascinated by the possibilities presented by IoT, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence. In an increasingly connected world, massive amounts of structured and unstructured data open new opportunities. As a data scientist at Booz Allen, you can turn these complex data sets into useful information to solve global challenges. Across private and public sectors from fraud detection to cancer research, to national intelligence, we need a seasoned data scientist like you to help find the answers in the data. On our team, you'll use your leadership skills and data science expertise to create real-world impact. You'll work closely with clients to understand their questions and needs, and then dig into their data-rich environments to find the pieces of their information puzzle. You'll guide and mentor your team as you oversee the development of algorithms and systems. You'll use the right combination of tools and frameworks to turn sets of disparate data points into objective answers to advise your clients as they make informed decisions. As a technical leader, you'll identify new opportunities to use data science solutions to help your clients meet their toughest challenges. Ultimately, you'll provide a deep understanding of the data, what it all means, and how it can be used.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret data, identify features and modeling variables, assess the quality of model outputs, generate alternatives, and conduct remediation.
- Automate routine workflows and data analysis steps to assist with workflow automation.
- Use data science languages and tools, including Python, Git, GitLab or GitHub, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Lead or design machine learning, statistical analysis, and data analysis tasks.
- Work closely with clients to understand their questions and needs, and guide the development of algorithms and systems.
- Identify new opportunities to use data science solutions to meet client challenges.
Requirements
- Experience interpreting data, identifying features and modeling variables, assessing the quality of model outputs, generating alternatives, and conducting remediation.
- Experience automating routine workflows and data analysis steps.
- Experience using data science languages and tools, including Python, Git, GitLab or GitHub, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Knowledge of data science or data analytics.
- Ability to lead or design machine learning, statistical analysis, and data analysis tasks.
- Top Secret clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in a Data Science, Mathematics, Information Science, Statistics, Engineering, or Business Analytics field and 8+ years of experience in data science or data analytics, or Master's degree in a Data Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field and 4+ years of experience in data science or data analytics.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Power Suite, Databricks, Apache Spark, Splunk, PowerShell, Java, C#, QT, VBA, SQL, XML, and accompanying technologies.
- TS/SCI clearance.
- Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers (FAC-P/PM), Program Management Institute Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or certifications in Cloud, Cybersecurity, Microsoft, Databricks, or Splunk Platform.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant fields with 8+ years of experience or Master's degree with 4+ years of experience.
