About the Role

The DevOps and SRE Engineer will foster collaboration between development teams to enhance the software development lifecycle, ensuring efficient and reliable delivery of software products. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining monitoring systems, automating release processes, and managing cloud infrastructure to support scalable, high-availability architectures. The position is based in Murray, KY with telecommuting options up to 5 days per week, within a company that is a global leader in crop protection and committed to sustainable agriculture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster collaboration and integration between development teams to enhance the software development lifecycle and ensure efficient and reliable delivery of software products.
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust monitoring and alerting systems to ensure high system reliability.
  • Proactively identify and resolve potential issues, perform incident response, and conduct post-incident analysis to prevent future occurrences.
  • Coordinate DevOps and SRE projects across various locations including Europe, India, the United States, and Brazil.
  • Take ownership of DevOps and SRE projects on both a global and local scale.
  • Design, build, and lead the implementation and optimization of continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines.
  • Automate and streamline the software release process to reduce time to market and improve software quality.
  • Ensure scalability, high availability, and cost optimization by leveraging cloud services and technologies to build resilient and elastic architectures.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Information System Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field of study.
  • Four (4) years of experience in the position offered or as a DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or a closely related occupation.
  • Experience with AWS infrastructure provisioning and management, including Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Knowledge of designing AWS VPCs, VPC peering, IAM principles, and AWS deployment strategies such as canary and blue/green deployments.
  • Experience managing SSL/TLS certificates via AWS ACM, penetration test remediation, and analyzing third-party dependency vulnerabilities.
  • Familiarity with establishing quality gates within development pipelines, testing APIs with Postman and Newman, and performance testing with JMeter.
  • Proficiency in automating web application testing, security and configuration management tools (e.g., Guard Duty, AWS Config, Security Hub, CloudTrail).
  • Strong skills in programming and scripting languages including Python, Bash, PowerShell, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with RDS (Postgres and MySQL), Aurora, change management solutions like Liquibase, and container environments such as Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, and EKS.
  • Knowledge of network design, VPNs, peering, NACLs, security groups, and firewall technologies.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI, AWS CodeBuild, and CodePipeline.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and CloudWatch, as well as incident management and disaster recovery planning.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Power BI and PowerShell scripting.
  • Knowledge of FinOps methodologies and infrastructure cost optimization.
  • Experience deploying and configuring Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) such as Backstage.
  • Understanding of SLI/SLO concepts, error budgets, and metrics availability.
  • Experience in the agriculture industry or with farm management software systems.

  • Master's degree in relevant field and four (4) years of experience in a related role.
