About the Role

As an AWS DevOps engineer, you know how to set up cloud environments and provision computer networking, storage, and virtual networks-ultimately, how to "harness the cloud". We're looking for an AWS DevOps infrastructure engineer like you to support our clients as they modernize their IT infrastructures and meet their most challenging missions. At Booz Allen, you'll work closely with cloud architects and engineers to manage server configuration for modern cloud solutions, develop, deploy, and manage IT infrastructures, and expand your skills within an innovative environment with access to the latest technology and talented teammates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support clients in modernizing their IT infrastructures by managing server configuration for cloud solutions.
  • Work closely with cloud architects and engineers to establish or provision virtual machines or networks.
  • Use cloud service providers to further clients' missions.
  • Develop, deploy, or manage IT infrastructures for server and network components.
  • Automate builds, regression testing, monitoring, and pushing releases across environments to drive DevOps or DevSecOps maturity.
  • Troubleshoot, triage, and resolve issues related to CI/CD pipeline failures or slowness.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) using tools like AWS CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible.
  • Develop scripts using Bash, Python, PowerShell, and administer Linux and Windows Server systems.
  • Utilize security scanning tools and DevSecOps practices such as SonarQube, and perform monitoring, logging, and alerting with tools like CloudWatch.
  • Create solutions to complex problems within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
  • Provision computer networking and storage, and set up servers including virtual machines or networks.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with AWS.
  • 2+ years of experience automating builds, regression testing, monitoring, and releases in DevOps or DevSecOps environments.
  • 2+ years of troubleshooting CI/CD pipeline issues.
  • 2+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as AWS CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
  • 2+ years of experience with Configuration as Code (CaC) tools like Ansible or Terraform.
  • 2+ years of scripting experience with Bash, Python, PowerShell.
  • Experience with Linux system and Windows Server administration.
  • Experience with security scanning tools, DevSecOps practices, and monitoring tools like CloudWatch.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of DevOps experience, or 5+ years of DevOps experience in lieu of a degree.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with commercial tools such as Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, Discourse, Overleaf, GitLab, GitLab Runners, Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarQube, Ansys products, Teamwork Cloud, MATLAB, Fortify, McAfee ePO, Splunk, or Nessus.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI and Jenkins.
  • Experience with Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and security documentation.
  • Experience with serverless architecture including API Gateway.
  • Knowledge of container security, runtime protection, compliance automation, and continuous monitoring.
  • Master's degree in a technical field.
  • IAT Level II or III Certification such as Security+ or CISSP.
  • AWS Certifications like AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or 5+ years of DevOps experience in lieu of a degree.
