About the Role

We are looking for a driven and collaborative DevOps Engineer to join our Engineering Excellence team at the Nordics' leading insurer. The role involves coaching, mentoring, and empowering squads, driving the adoption of DevOps and software best practices, and helping build a sustainable, learning-focused tech culture. The successful candidate will help set the technical direction for cloud-based core systems, enable squads to deliver faster and safer, and collaborate across multiple teams to ensure technical alignment and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coaching and supporting squads to adopt DevOps, test automation, cloud, and security best practices.
  • Defining, documenting, and scaling standards for software quality, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and technical alignment.
  • Facilitating knowledge sharing, training, and workshops to upskill engineers, foster a growth mindset, and build trust.
  • Enabling a culture of collaboration, open feedback, and psychological safety to help teams work together smarter and safer.
  • Help set the technical direction for cloud-based core systems and support squads in modernizing their ways of working.
  • Collaborate across multiple teams and tech stacks to ensure technical alignment and consistency.

Requirements

  • A degree in a tech-related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role (software development/system administration).
  • Expertise in the Azure cloud platform; familiarity with AWS or GCP is a plus.
  • Understanding of containers and orchestration, especially Docker and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Strong scripting skills, particularly in PowerShell and Bash; knowledge of Python is beneficial.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure as code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates) and automation.
  • Good understanding of networking and security in a cloud context.
  • Previous experience with coaching, documentation, and enabling teams is a strong advantage.
  • Certification in Azure DevOps or Azure Administrator is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with AWS or GCP.
  • Knowledge of Python.
  • Certification in Azure DevOps or Azure Administrator.
