DevOps Solution Lead/Architect (AWS)

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Perform as an individual contributor and colleague who enjoys collaborating with, learning from, and mentoring program team members on security disciplines to bolster overall security posture to lower the business risk profile.
• Solve complex problems around connected vehicle technology for mobility and telematics by troubleshoot issues and debug codebases.
• Deployment, automation, management, and maintenance of AWS cloud-based production system.
• Adapt new technologies, tools, processes from the organization as needed.
• Communicate well with team members and work collaboratively.
• Maintain and improve existing codebases and peer review code changes.
• Ensure availability, performance, security, and scalability of AWS production systems.
• Manage creation, release, and configuration of production systems.
• Troubleshoot systems and resolve problems across various application domains and platforms.
• Review code and technical approaches for problem solving to ensure functional and non-functional requirements are met in an effective and high-quality manner.
• Provide guidance and mentor technical teams across multiple architecture styles and technologies to ensure high quality design/implementation, re-use of enterprise/common patterns, improve code quality and testability/maintainability by ensuring standard design practices and removing duplication of effort.
• Help ensure high quality software delivery by providing guidance on testing strategy, planning/designing performance testing and profiling, and providing feedback for tuning performance and other non-functional elements.
• Define and communicate complex technical and operational solutions and translate complex topics into simple business language to drive value alignment.
• Prepare technical solution and architecture documents, artifacts, work products, and presentations.

Requirements

• Mastery in one of the SecDevops practices - IaC-Terraform, Cloud-AWS, CICD-Git/Argo, microservices architecture deployment (primarily Kubernetes) with awareness of site reliability engineering principles, coupled with a willingness to learn and expand knowledge.
• 5-10 years of experience in Information Technology and 2-3+ years in an Architecture environment.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS), cloud engineering, architecture, and software as a service, including hands-on experience with AWS IAM, VPC, EKS, CloudFront, and API Gateway.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Experience with source control and continuous integration tools.
• Strong analytical and reasoning skills.
• Scripting experience with Bash/Shell and Python.
• Experience in IaC - Terraform is a must-have.
• CI (preferably Gitlab CI) and CD (preferably Argo CD).
• Kubernetes debugging experience.
• Ability to work in fast-paced teams with quick decision-making.

Nice to Have

• Expertise in additional cloud platform tools such as AWS ECS, EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and others.
• Experience with CloudFormation, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Docker, Helm, Serverless, and Secrets Management tools like HCP Vault or AWS Secrets Manager.
• Knowledge of networking components such as Transit Gateway, VPC Peering, NAT, Istio, Traefik, and Nginx.
• Scripting skills in GO, JavaScript, YAML, JSON.
• Experience with build tools like Maven, Gradle, NPM, Bazel, Go.
• Knowledge of databases such as RDS, SQL, MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, DynamoDB.
• Familiarity with security standards and protocols like OpenID, SAML, OAuth, JWT, CA, X.509, MTLS.
• Understanding of IT Architectural frameworks like TOGAF and service mesh practices.
