About the Role

The Digital Marketing Content Specialist at the University of Missouri works creatively and collaboratively with the college's marketing and communications team to tell the college story through videography and photography. The role supports the college's social media channels, website, print materials, and other outlets by crafting storylines, capturing events, managing media files, and producing engaging visual content. This position serves as a photography resource for the college and oversees the video and photo filing system to support project workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work creatively and collaboratively to tell the college story through videography and photography.
  • Support the college's social media channels, website, and print materials with visual content.
  • Craft storylines, identify talent, secure b-roll, and edit footage to ensure finished products meet project strategies and goals.
  • Serve as a photography resource for the college by capturing events and activities.
  • Oversee the college's video and photo filing system to support shared project workflows.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired.
  • Proficiency in shooting photos and videos.
  • Deep knowledge of editing systems and post-production, recording, music, voice overs, studio and field production.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and changing priorities.

Nice to Have

  • Managing high volume workflow involving multiple video and photo projects while working successfully under deadline.
  • Operating and sustaining all equipment, including camera, software, lighting, and audio, and staying current on new hardware and software.
  • Creating deliverables and managing workload through project management software.
  • Technical proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Demonstrating creative and inspirational storytelling skills.
  • Experience with animation and motion graphics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • 2 years of relevant experience.
