About the Role

The VP of Social Media will lead an internal social media team and play a pivotal role in driving an always-on digital strategy for clients. This position involves building and leading the overall strategic vision for public figures, digital natives, brands, and media companies, crafting bespoke social media strategies, and supporting business development efforts. The role is based in Los Angeles and focuses on leveraging social communities, emerging technologies, and cultural moments to monetize and diversify revenue streams within the Creator Economy at Creative Artists Agency (CAA). CAA is a leading entertainment, media, and sports agency known for its culture of collaboration and exceptional client service, representing professionals across various entertainment sectors and providing strategic marketing services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing and executing innovative and strategic plans for client social media and content across digital platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, and more.
  • Review client's current social media accounts, analyze the content, engagement, and overall performance.
  • Effectively communicate a comprehensive strategic vision that reflects the unique preferences of the client, their personal brand, and the specific objectives of their business.
  • Generate and supervise the creation of both long and short-form videos, still images, graphics, copy, captions, and memes.
  • Enhance social media strategies to boost user engagement.
  • Work with CAA Data & Analytics team to develop KPIs and measurement criteria across social media.
  • Support business development including outreach, leveraging relationships, pitching clients, and advising on deal terms.
  • Develop integrated marketing and sponsorship activation plans in collaboration with clients and team members.
  • Support the growth of CAA's network and visibility in social media by attending conferences and functions.
  • Research and stay up to date on emerging social media trends in film, TV, sports, music, and creator spaces.
  • Provide onsite client support for events, activations, shoots, and other activities as needed to ensure social media coverage.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of combined experience in agency, platform, or brand social media departments working with public figures, brands, and media companies.
  • An impressive portfolio demonstrating creativity and expertise in the digital/social space.
  • Excellent knowledge of YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, and social media best practices.
  • Experience signing social media management clients and understanding market terms.
  • Familiarity with social media tools like Hootsuite and Spout.
  • Established relationships in social media, content syndication, and/or MCN space.
  • Strong client servicing and relationship-building skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think quickly in a fast-paced, agency environment.
  • Solution-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to travel and work outside normal hours as needed.

  • Experience working with public figures, brands, and media companies.
  • Experience in developing social media strategies for diverse verticals such as gaming, lifestyle, beauty, and fashion.
  • Existing relationships within the social media, content syndication, or MCN space.

Benefits & Perks

  • Annual base salary in the range of $195,000 - $265,000.
  • Eligibility for benefits and a discretionary bonus.
