Job Description

About the Role

Altruist is the modern custodian built exclusively for independent financial advisors that combines a self-clearing brokerage firm with intuitive software for account opening, trading, reporting, and billing — all in one streamlined solution. Financial advisors across the U.S. have partnered with Altruist to reduce costs, save time, grow their business, and provide better outcomes for their clients. Our mission is to make financial advice better, more affordable, and accessible to everyone — but we can't do it alone. We're seeking exceptional talent to join our team. The company values kindness, brilliance, and grit, fostering a culture of listening, humility, ownership, resilience, and creative problem solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a high-velocity in-person and virtual events function, owning strategy and execution that align with go-to-market priorities, drive brand visibility, generate revenue through ticket sales and sponsorships, and deliver measurable ROI.
  • Strategically determine where the company shows up (and where it doesn't), ensuring every event supports business goals and is tailored to the ideal customer profile.
  • Lead team in the end-to-end planning and execution of events—including the flagship user conference, regional hosted events, virtual programs, and industry tradeshows—overseeing budgets, timelines, logistics, vendor management, on-site production, and promotion and post-event follow-up.
  • Travel as needed to ensure flawless execution of events.
  • Craft impactful event programming with Content and Product Marketing teams that delivers thought leadership, showcases product innovation, and builds community through high-value content.
  • Manage the full event marketing lifecycle, working cross-functionally with Growth, Creative, and Content teams to drive pre-event promotion, in-event engagement, and post-event follow-up and lead capture.
  • Define and track KPIs to measure pipeline impact, engagement, and ROI, using insights to optimize future programs.
  • Refine and scale event processes and playbooks to ensure operational consistency, efficiency, and high-quality execution across all event formats.
  • Manage and evolve the event tech stack to support an AI-first, data-driven approach, overseeing external agencies and production partners to ensure scalability, brand alignment, and strong ROI.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience leading high-impact events in a B2B environment, with proven ability to drive pipeline, revenue, and brand visibility.
  • Experience owning complex event portfolios—from flagship conferences to executive programs—and delivering them flawlessly under pressure.
  • Demonstrated strength in managing and optimizing large-scale event budgets while achieving or exceeding ROI targets.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines, teams, and priorities without sacrificing quality.
  • Fluency in latest event platforms and marketing tech, including Bizzabo, Zoom Webinars, HubSpot, and Salesforce.
  • Ideally a B.A. / B.S. degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Advertising, or related fields.
  • Technologically savvy with the ability to quickly learn modern tech stacks.
  • Ownership mindset with pride in work quality.
  • Superb communication skills with intentional dialogue and active listening.
  • Resilience and unwavering determination to succeed.
  • Confidence combined with humility and openness to different perspectives.
  • Creative problem solving skills to find solutions to roadblocks.
