Director of Design, GenStudio

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive the design vision for Adobe GenStudio, centered on AI-first, agentic workflows, and champion the evolution from traditional creative editing to intelligence-layer design.
• Act as a player/coach by prototyping, tinkering, and experimenting while mentoring a team of designers.
• Lead end-to-end design across core areas of GenStudio, ensuring designs are feasible, scalable, and performant in partnership with engineering.
• Champion a tinkerer's mindset by experimenting with prototypes, emerging UI patterns (chat + canvas + editor), and new generative AI capabilities, creating spaces for rapid experimentation.
• Translate evolving customer insights and enterprise feedback into actionable design strategies, advocating for marketer needs and grounding decisions in research and real-world usage.
• Collaborate with teams across Adobe—such as Firefly, Experience Cloud, and enterprise platform teams—and influence senior stakeholders with compelling narratives, prototypes, and strategy documents.

Requirements

• 12+ years in product design, with 5+ years in leadership roles.
• Proven track record leading design for complex enterprise products, ideally in marketing, data, or AI.
• Hands-on design and prototyping skills with the ability to inspire through demonstration.
• Deep curiosity and comfort working in emerging spaces such as AI agents, LLMs, and generative interfaces.
• Strong systems thinker capable of simplifying complexity into intuitive, composable workflows.
• Passionate about scaling and mentoring design teams with a player/coach mindset.
• Ability to balance strategic vision with execution discipline and adapt team structures as needed.
• Experience in designing experiments to measure adoption, value, and trust.
• Proven ability to build and scale a high-performing design organization while remaining flexible.
