About the Role

The Senior Manager/Director of Technology Incubation & Acceleration at Philip Morris International (PMI) plays a pivotal role in driving innovation and technological advancement as part of the OneUS Innovation & Corporate Development team. This position focuses on enabling external innovation, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to translate new technologies into products that meet unmet consumer needs, and fostering a tech-savvy entrepreneurial mindset to advance innovation opportunities using strategic vision, technical acumen, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a technology incubation and acceleration roadmap for innovation platform(s), focusing on addressing unmet consumer needs.
  • Lead efforts to identify, evaluate, and prioritize emerging technologies that can drive growth and competitive advantage.
  • Identify, establish, and nurture strategic partnerships with external innovators, startups, academic institutions, and technology hubs to source and integrate cutting-edge technologies.
  • Manage incubation and acceleration programs supporting the development and commercialization of new technologies, ensuring seamless integration into the company's operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Consumer Insights, Marketing, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure successful technology adoption and implementation into the product portfolio.
  • Oversee resource allocation, including budget, personnel, and facilities, to support technology incubation and acceleration initiatives.
  • Serve as a thought leader and advocate for technological innovation within the company, representing the organization at conferences, forums, and events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline; advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology development, innovation management, or a related field, with a proven track record of successful technology incubation and acceleration.
  • Strong understanding of emerging technologies and their applications in the FMCG or healthcare sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, including startups, research institutions, and technology providers.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving innovation and achieving business objectives.

Qualifications
