This position provides oversight to the Enterprise Data engineering division by providing organizational leadership and guidance on best industry practices related to the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including all levels of testing. The role involves directing and overseeing architects and software engineers, coordinating application architecture and design, and promoting collaboration through continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Align the strategic direction of the team with IT and Early Warning's strategic goals.
  • Enhance and mature the Agile software development lifecycle within the Software Engineering department by applying industry best practices and processes.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of the Agile SDLC through regular reviews of process boundaries, steps, and artifacts.
  • Support the company's commitment to risk management and safeguarding system and data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Research, collect, and present application and system improvements from vendors, seminars, and publications.
  • Build, develop, and direct a highly performing team.
  • Manage the functions of internal and external staff to ensure delivery of quality software applications.
  • Perform capacity planning and allocate resources for projects and supported functions.
  • Participate in hiring, conduct performance evaluations, and provide professional development guidance.
  • Evaluate existing methodologies, track metrics, and recommend process improvements.
  • Contribute to the strategic leadership of the Software Engineering department.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships across the organization and serve as a representative of the IT department.
  • Guide other departments in understanding technical solutions and defining ROI.
  • Oversee test plan creation, execution, and review, including automated testing tools and regression test suites.
  • Collaborate internally and externally to represent the technology organization and participate in cross-functional project teams.
  • Review project status reports and quality metrics, addressing issues as needed.
  • Keep executive management informed of department progress and challenges.

Requirements

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Computer Information Systems/Computer Science/Cyber Security.
  • Ten or more years of leadership experience.
  • Proven management and leadership skills in leading and influencing business and development teams.
  • Experience leading teams that build complex, highly scalable products.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and energize engineering teams and managers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Agile software development methodologies and practices.
  • Over 5 years of oversight experience for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple deadlines, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Background and drug screening clearance.

  • Experience applying or creating/governing BOTS.
  • Experience with Rule Engines.
  • Experience with Operational Portal design.
  • Experience with Metric reporting tools like Tableau.

  • Experience with process reengineering.
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, architecture, open source frameworks, database systems, networking, and security.
  • Experience with Big Data Java technologies.

Qualifications

  • Educational background in Business, Finance, or Computer Information Systems/Computer Science/Cyber Security.
  • Leadership experience of 10+ years.
  • Experience with building scalable products and leading engineering teams.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and cross-functional groups.
