The Director, Software Engineering - Full Stack and Process Automation role is based in Austin, Texas, and involves managing resources, ensuring delivery and operational excellence of full-stack and process automation services, providing technical leadership, and collaborating across teams to develop scalable, resilient, and secure payment platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for one or more product offerings under Payment Platform Development, Cardholder Applications Development group.
  • Manage resources in Austin, ensuring delivery and operational excellence of services built on full-stack and process automation technologies.
  • Coach and guide team members to achieve project goals.
  • Participate in application architecture, feature design, network topology, and application scalability planning.
  • Own the process of bringing applications from whiteboard concept to live deployment.
  • Support agile end-to-end development processes within DevOps practices, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Provide technical insights for release planning, including user story breakdown, task assignment, and backlog grooming.
  • Design and develop scalable, resilient, secure, and decoupled services.
  • Implement alerting for production errors and gather behavioral and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with business teams, architects, and senior technologists to ensure product vision and quality delivery.
  • Design and improve internal development methodologies utilizing .NET and supporting technologies.
  • Ensure operational excellence for full-stack services.
  • Identify and utilize industry best practices to maximize solution efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Collaborate with global IT teams and business users across time zones.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 7 years with an Advanced degree, or 4 years with a PhD, or 13+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience managing onsite and virtual teams of 6 or more members.
  • Hands-on experience with full stack technologies such as .NET, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Angular/React, JavaScript, SQL, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, and Design Patterns.
  • Experience in process and desktop automation technologies.
  • Experience with RESTful API development and standards like OAuth and SAML.
  • Proficiency with NoSQL and SQL datastores including MySQL and MongoDB.
  • Experience with agile development, CI/CD tools like GIT, Maven, Jenkins.
  • Experience in designing and developing large-scale, high-availability distributed systems.
  • Ability to drive deep application and system architecture discussions.
  • Strong research skills and a passion for understanding and improving products.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to navigate ambiguity.

Nice to Have

  • Java technologies hands-on experience.
  • Experience with Hadoop large data processing systems.
