About the Role

The Core Markets Engineering team at AMD is a fast-paced and dynamic group comprising Center of Excellences (CoEs) including Cybersecurity, Functional Safety, and Embedded Software. The team supports and develops high-quality solutions in these areas, focusing on security applications for platforms such as the Adaptive System-on-Chip (Adaptive SoC). The role involves working in a collaborative environment that values innovation, execution excellence, and diverse perspectives, with a mission to build products that accelerate next-generation computing experiences across data centers, AI, PCs, gaming, and embedded systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive execution of comprehensive, highly effective software for sophisticated new technology and new product introduction projects
  • Engage in deep technical discussions to define security requirements for next generation products
  • Collaborate closely with multiple teams to deliver key planning solutions and the technology to support them
  • Participate in resolution of critical customer support cases
  • Review security architectures in support of customer driven use cases
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to manage requirements throughout the product lifecycle (architecture, design, test, etc) using requirement management software and tools
  • Validate new software features before releasing them to customers
  • Contribute to a high-functioning cross functional team
  • Help contribute to the design and implementation of future architecture for a highly scalable, durable, and innovative system

Requirements

  • Knowledge in security concepts & cryptographic algorithms in microelectronics, specifically FPGA/SoCs
  • Experience with the application of security into products and systems
  • Experience in logic fundamentals and FPGA/SoCs design
  • Experience in use of simulation and verification techniques
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as C, Verilog, VHDL, Python, PERL
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment in a testing environment
  • Knowledge of ARM-based Embedded Systems
  • Knowledge of other Embedded OS such as RTOS
  • Knowledge of Embedded Hypervisors
  • Knowledge of Trusted Execution Environment
  • Knowledge of ARM Trustzone Technology
  • Experience with security certifications (e.g., Common Criteria and/or FIPS)
  • Academic credentials: Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

Nice to Have

  • Experience with security concepts & cryptographic algorithms in microelectronics
  • Experience with security certifications such as Common Criteria and/or FIPS

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's degree or PhD in Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline
