Embedded Software Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate software/hardware into complex avionics equipment in a team environment.
• Write code in C with some assembly for lower level or performance-critical functions.
• Assess reusability, maintainability, and efficiency of software across product lines.
• Develop low-level software requirements and design documentation in accordance with RTCA DO-178B/C guidelines.
• Contribute technical input on software/product design approaches in compliance with FAA guidelines and established processes.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship due to ITAR compliance requirements.
• Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with C exposure.
• Knowledge of embedded systems and ARM processor (or similar) based development.
• Ability to read and write C source code and assembly language.
• Ability to read and understand electronic component datasheets.
• Professional and effective communication skills.
• Complex problem-solving skills.
• Dependability, accountability, and availability.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems (e.g., VxWorks).
• Board level programming knowledge (e.g., u-boot).
• Interface knowledge: SPI, 422, 485, i2C, USB, ethernet, RGB, LVDS, MIPI.
• Ability to use Debugger and perform low-level troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Eclipse or other IDEs.
• Linux experience.
• Multi-core processor knowledge.
• Quick learners who can research and self-teach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.

• Salary range: $90,000 - $120,000 per year.
• 10% annual bonus.
