About the Role

We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer with comprehensive knowledge of real-time embedded software philosophies and practices. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Linux kernel internals, including process scheduling, memory management, concurrency/synchronization, memory allocation, file systems, and networking subsystems architecture. The position involves developing embedded software for microcontrollers, troubleshooting, and collaborating on software stacks in a hybrid work environment in Los Angeles, CA.

Key Responsibilities

Develop embedded software in assembly, C/C++, Rust, or other languages for microcontrollers, including hardware drivers.
Utilize low-level communication protocols such as PCIe, Ethernet, SPI, and I2C.
Review schematics and employ logic analyzer and embedded software troubleshooting techniques.
Engage in middleware programming and handle device software to manage architectural complexity.
Collaborate on understanding and integrating existing software stacks across various subsystems.
Identify and resolve issues by diving into different software layers.

Requirements

Proficiency in C++, Rust, and embedded software development.
Experience with firmware, Linux, driver development, and embedded Linux.
Strong object-oriented programming skills and understanding of component relationships.
Ability to understand and navigate middleware to application and low-level software interactions.

Nice to Have

Experience with automotive or consumer products.
Capability to work primarily on existing systems with 20% new development.
