About the Role

The Engineer will be responsible for administering, maintaining, and configuring the CA-ACF2 security system on z/OS mainframe environments. This role involves developing security policies, performing audits, troubleshooting access issues, and collaborating with various teams to ensure enterprise security and compliance in a multi-site mainframe setting located in Salt Lake City, UT. The position requires extensive experience in mainframe security, tools, and capacity planning.

Key Responsibilities

Administer, maintain, and configure CA-ACF2 security system on z/OS environments.
Create, modify, and delete user IDs, groups, roles, datasets, and resource rules.
Develop and enforce enterprise security policies and procedures using ACF2 rules.
Perform access reviews, audits, and remediation tasks to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations such as SOX and HIPAA.
Analyze and troubleshoot access control issues, security violations, and user authorization problems.
Collaborate with application, system, and network teams to integrate security practices and automate processes.
Create and maintain security documentation including user provisioning/deprovisioning procedures and control matrices.
Implement and support multifactor authentication and other enterprise security enhancements on mainframe.
Monitor system logs and audit trails for suspicious activity or policy violations.
Participate in security reviews, compliance audits, and disaster recovery tests.
Support Mainframe tools such as SIEM (Q-Radar), z/OS-SA, CA-OPS/MVS Automation, and mainframe software including DB2, MQ, CICS, WAS, and Control-M.
Support capacity planning, performance tuning, licensing, TCO, and ROI planning for mainframe environments.

Requirements

Minimum of 10+ years of broad and in-depth hands-on technical experience in Mainframe z/OS.
Experience in a multi-site mainframe environment with at least 2,000 MIPS.
Proficiency with Mainframe Security ACF2.
Experience with mainframe tools such as SIEM (Q-Radar), z/OS-SA, CA-OPS/MVS Automation.
Knowledge of mainframe DB2, MQ, CICS, WAS, and Control-M.
Support for mainframe software evaluation, high availability, and disaster recovery.
Ability to derive realistic SLAs and design architecture to meet those SLAs.
Experience with mainframe licensing, TCO, and ROI planning.
Bachelor of Computer Science degree.
