They are seeking a Software Engineer to work on the Space Development Agency (SDA) project, developing and maintaining ground software for satellite constellation monitoring and operation, within a dynamic and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with your team to develop and enhance software related to the SDA project
Assist in developing optimized code for both scalability and performance
Work within the Agile/Scrum framework for software development (Atlassian tool suite desired)
Support efforts in creating and/or maintaining build environments for software products
Work within team objectives to assist in planning and executing software releases per stakeholder/program schedules and budgets
Participate in updating issue/feature data in Atlassian Project/Software tracking tools
Follow existing Iridium processes for Change Control, Prioritization, Risk Management, COTS Management, Build, and Test software deployments and assist in developing process/procedure documentation
Edit, structure, and present data, concepts, and arguments clearly and succinctly through briefings and documentation

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or other engineering discipline
Exposure to Agile based teams
Strong communication skills and ability to communicate key messages clearly
Ability to cultivate meaningful relationships and be open to constructive feedback
Ability to think outside the box and solve problems with humility to ask for help
Adaptability to a dynamic environment and readiness to take on new tasks
Motivation to achieve outcomes and results
Capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and complete them on time with minimal errors
Ability to prioritize tasks, identify and correct mistakes, and seek help when needed
Active pursuit of self-improvement and enthusiasm for sharing knowledge

Nice to Have

Experience with Kubernetes / Docker
Experience with Apache Kafka
Experience with Grafana
Experience with Linux based environments and bash shell scripting
Knowledge of Java, TypeScript, Python, Perl, C++
Familiarity with XML, JSON, SQL
Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
Knowledge of js / Apache Web Server
Experience with RESTful / HTTP / ELK or similar / WebSockets
Experience with Atlassian tools: Jira, Git, Bitbucket, Crucible, Confluence, Gitlab
Knowledge of microservices architectures
Experience with AWS cloud environments

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or computer science field
