The role of a Forward Deployed Software Engineer involves building the business within a single customer context, identifying valuable problems, creating solutions, and owning the process from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

Solve high-impact problems by working closely with customers to understand their needs, developing innovative solutions, and demonstrating their value.
Identify and address complex, multi-domain problems affecting cashflow, production, safety, and the environment.
Create and implement technical solutions that scale across customers using Gecko's platforms and tools.
Continuously learn and grow by tackling difficult challenges and expanding technical expertise.
Engage with customers to understand their true needs and deliver impactful results.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or relevant experience.
3+ years of experience in a similar role.
Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools.
Proficiency with programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, or similar.
Understanding of how technical decisions impact user experience.
Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
Comfort working in a rapidly changing environment with dynamic objectives and iteration with users.
Demonstrated ability to learn continuously, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision.
Willingness and interest to travel as needed.

Nice to Have

Experience with Python, JavaScript, React, Google Cloud, and Amazon Web Services.

Qualifications

Relevant formal education or equivalent experience in related fields.
