About the Role

The Virtual Construction Lab of Schüco (VCL) is seeking an independent, innovative, and resourceful Full Stack Developer to join their office in New York City. Schüco is a German-based international leader in the aluminum facade industry, developing high-performance door, window, and curtainwall systems for landmark projects around the globe. VCL functions as an innovation lab within Schüco, collaborating across design, engineering, programming, and visualization to research and develop new products, software, and visualization tools. The role involves developing, maintaining, and deploying cutting-edge enterprise software in a fast-paced, Agile environment, with opportunities to work with modern technologies and collaborate with international teams.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with UX teams and team leads to understand business requirements and technical designs.
Design, develop, and maintain both frontend and backend components for complex, interactive web applications.
Build and deploy software applications and workflows leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Utilize HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Angular and 3js to create responsive, scalable web applications.
Create and maintain database schemas, including writing DDL and DML scripts for database creation and management.
Produce and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all developed systems.
Conduct unit, functional, and integration testing to ensure application quality and reliability.
Actively participate in Agile development processes, collaborating in Scrum teams to deliver features and enhancements.
Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of microservices-based architectures, ensuring scalability and modularity.
Manage the entire application lifecycle, including updates, patches, and troubleshooting to ensure smooth operation.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 5+ years of related experience.
Proficiency in at least two object-oriented programming languages such as C#, Java, or TypeScript.
Strong knowledge of frontend technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, and 3js.
Experience with Kubernetes (K8s) for container orchestration.
Solid understanding of SQL and relational database management.
Familiarity with microservices architecture is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills.
Experience working in Agile development environments and collaborating in Scrum teams.
Proficiency with IDEs like Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code.
Familiarity with Git workflows, preferably with GitHub.
Self-driven, resourceful, and capable of working independently in a remote setup.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with microservices architecture.
