About the Role

Patreon is a media and community platform where over 300,000 creators give their biggest fans access to exclusive work and experiences. We offer creators a variety of ways to engage with their communities and build a lasting business including: paid memberships, free memberships, community chats, live experiences, and selling to fans directly with one-time purchases. Our goal is to fund the creative class, and we are leaders in that space with over $8 billion in revenue generated, 60 million+ free memberships, and 10 million+ paying fans monthly. We are investing heavily in building the best creator platform with the best team in the creator economy and are looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to support our mission. This role is based in San Francisco with a hybrid work model requiring in-office presence 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

Help scale and expand Patreon's membership monetization capabilities to assist creators in growing their businesses.
Drive A/B testing and data-informed iteration to optimize monetization strategies and user flows.
Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, data scientists, and other engineers to design, build, and iterate on monetization features.
Lead development of full-stack features, focusing on modern frontend technologies like React and TypeScript, while building reliable backend systems in Python and MySQL.
Contribute to a strong product-oriented engineering culture, emphasizing best practices, quality, and user empathy in the development process.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in software development.
Passionate about shipping impactful features quickly and iteratively, using data and experimentation to inform decisions.
Experience designing and running A/B tests, analyzing results, and turning insights into action.
Comfortable diving into both frontend and backend code to deliver end-to-end functionality.
Skilled at collaborating across disciplines and communicating technical and product trade-offs clearly.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or the equivalent.

Nice to Have

Experience with React, TypeScript, Python, and MySQL.
Experience with product experimentation and growth tools.
