Games Analyst

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and report on the Virginia Lottery's Games Performance, including defining reporting requirements and maintaining dashboards to track KPIs for Scratchers, Draw Games, and Online Games.
• Proactively review and analyze individual and overall game sales to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
• Review, analyze, and improve prize structures for every game to ensure accuracy and identify opportunities for enhancement.
• Develop tools to incorporate third-party data into existing dashboards and collaborate with external partners on data collection and analysis.
• Create ad hoc reports on game details and player behavior, and make strategic recommendations to improve games.
• Serve as the subject matter expert on sales trends for both online and retail games and provide strategic insights.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure compliance with standards and support rapid change initiatives.
• Participate in discussions with other lotteries regarding sales trends and game performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited 4-year college or university with major studies in Marketing, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience managing product analytics programs.
• Strong understanding of the gaming sector or comparable consumer packaged goods.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, functions, and pivot tables.
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI and data visualization tools such as Tableau or similar.
• Demonstrated project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Solid understanding of digital technologies, web, and mobile applications.
• Exceptional time management skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with third-party data sources and developing analytical tools.
• Knowledge of the gaming industry or consumer behavior analytics.
• Experience working in a regulated environment or with lottery/gaming products.
