Generative AI Software Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test innovative systems with the latest Generative AI tools and techniques.
• Ensure the productivity of the organization’s employees by creating systems that support goals with Generative AI features and automations.
• Support the creation of engineering and AI standards for the organization.
• Review code and develop automated validation tools to ensure quality of solutions delivered to production.
• Solve complex business problems using Generative AI tools and techniques.
• Generate new business opportunities through Generative AI-focused features, products, and services.
• Develop highly automated AI/ML platforms including MLOps.
• Create and refine reference architectures for Generative AI and assist in their socialization.
• Design and implement new Generative AI architectures within larger systems.
• Stay current with Generative AI tools and techniques.
• Design and execute A/B tests for data-driven decision making.
• Curate training data for model fine-tuning and fine-tune models as needed.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines for AI/ML applications, including knowledge base creation and maintenance.
• Design, develop, test, and document software systems in accordance with SDLC.
• Guide product direction using knowledge of the business.
• Mentor team members and review code to ensure standards and flexibility.
• Lead complex projects with minimal oversight.
• Participate in Agile development ceremonies and suggest improvements to current systems and processes.

Requirements

• Must currently be in Kansas City area and work two days in our office in downtown KC.
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a software engineer or at least 6 years of experience in software engineering.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design and System Design principles.
• Experience with AI (1-2 years preferred) and a passion for continued AI learning.
• Proficiency in Python, AWS Lambda, RDS, S3, SQL, and Software Design.
• Experience with Generative AI, Prompt Engineering, Bedrock, and Agents.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI and machine learning platforms.
• Knowledge of MLOps practices.
• Familiarity with reference architecture creation and refinement.
