GIS Analyst

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Calculate population reach, demographic coverage, and market potential for existing and prospective branch locations.
• Generate drive-time and walk-time maps using network analysis to assess accessibility and service areas.
• Support retail node creation and maintenance, ensuring accurate and up-to-date spatial hierarchies.
• Mass-produce customized maps and spatial reports for de novo, relocation, and closure business case packages.
• Collaborate with strategy, real estate, and finance teams to integrate GIS insights into broader decision-making frameworks.
• Maintain and update geospatial datasets, including branch locations, competitor footprints, and demographic layers.
• Develop and optimize automated workflows for recurring spatial analysis tasks and map production.
• Translate complex spatial data into clear, compelling visualizations and narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
• Provide ad hoc spatial analysis and mapping support to cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• 4+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
• 3+ years of experience in a GIS Analyst or similar role, preferably in retail, banking, or location strategy.
• Strong understanding of demographic data, market segmentation, and spatial statistics.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex data in a clear, actionable format.
• Knowledge of retail site selection principles and location intelligence best practices.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in retail, banking, or location strategy environments.
• Proficiency with GIS software and spatial analysis tools.
• Experience with automated workflows and map production.
