Job Description

About the Role

The IT Specialist (INET/Full Stack Developer) NF-05 role involves performing full stack development duties, overseeing web and application projects from start to finish, creating user interactions, maintaining and upgrading software, and managing the end-to-end lifecycle of software and applications. The position supports projects that require in-depth knowledge of backend programming languages and web services, contributing to mission-critical systems within the Department of Defense environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Full Stack Developer duties to include both front and back operations on websites or applications to support projects.
  • Develop and integrate web services and APIs through an in-depth knowledge of current backend programming languages.
  • Oversee web development or application projects from start to finish, evaluating user needs and analyzing technical issues to design and develop functional systems.
  • Create user interactions on various websites and platforms, writing code optimized for mobile and developing databases and services for functionality.
  • Design and build aesthetically appealing front-end elements.
  • Maintain and upgrade the software and code following deployment, including testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues.
  • Manage the end-to-end life cycle for the production and update of software and applications, guiding analysis, writing, building, and deployment processes.

Requirements

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position, including satisfactory completion of background checks and employment verification.
  • A minimum of 5 years IT-related experience, demonstrated through paid or unpaid work, or completion of intensive training such as IT certification or coding boot camps.
  • Experience demonstrating the following competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving.
  • Experience in front-end technologies such as JavaScript, CSS3, HTML5, and third-party libraries like React Js, Angular, jQuery, or LESS.
  • Knowledge of back-end/server-side programming languages such as PHP, Java, Ruby, Kotlin, GraphQL, Docker, or Python.
  • Familiarity with DBMS technologies like SQLServer, Oracle, MongoDB, or MySQL, and caching mechanisms such as Redis, Memcached, or Varnish.
  • Knowledge of server management or cloud-based platforms.
  • Basic UI/UX and prototype design skills.
  • Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 years of graduate education leading to a Ph.D., or 5 years of IT experience with relevant competencies.

Nice to Have

  • Proficiency in Typescript, Node, gRPC, PostgresQL, and AWS.

  • Experience or education reflected on the resume and supporting documentation such as transcripts, degrees, diplomas, or certifications.
