About the Role

The Java Automation and DevOps Engineer will be responsible for converting Java/JEE applications to Maven, migrating projects to Github, and automating deployment processes. The role involves working with the Automation team to update project structures and with the Operations team to streamline deployment workflows, particularly on Websphere application servers. The position is based in Glen Allen, VA, and requires a candidate who can work in a hybrid environment.

Key Responsibilities

Convert Java/JEE applications to Maven and migrate projects to Github.
Work with the Automation team to convert eclipse/RAD compliant projects to Maven-based projects.
Use Github actions to build and publish projects.
Collaborate with the Operations team to automate deployments to Websphere application server.
Automate deployment processes using shell and Jython scripting in a Unix environment.

Requirements

10+ years of experience with Java.
10+ years of experience with Java EE.
10+ years of experience with Git repository management.
5+ years of experience with Github Actions.
8+ years of experience with Websphere.
5+ years of experience with Jython.
5+ years of experience with Unix/bash scripting.
Ability to work in the US and reside within the country for the duration of the assignment.
