About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other engineers and architects to create a common API layer between various data sources and applications via an agile product model working in 2-week sprints.
• Develop software in an agile environment leveraging DevOps for environment setup, automated builds, continuous deployment, continuous integration, and automated testing.
• Play a key role in implementing enterprise services and APIs under the guidance of the architectural team and engineering leadership.
• Deliver rapid, scalable, and quality solutions that meet business needs.
• Develop and implement unit test code and automated test scripts as part of development activities.
• Work closely with engineers, vendor partners, and business owners to ensure solutions meet business and customer needs.
• Follow industry-standard agile software design methodologies and introduce new technologies and methods.
• Maintain and evolve existing integration assets and systems.
• Assist with system design, business analysis, software/data design, and software delivery including server architecture, database schema, and data resource configuration.
• Analyze Kafka use cases, environment setup, enrichment, and transformations.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software development, including creating and maintaining application interfaces between data sources and applications.
• 1+ years of experience with DevOps.
• Strong Java development experience including experience with the Spring Framework, Eclipse, Maven, and Gradle.
• Experience developing application interfaces (API) with Java or similar object-oriented languages.
• Experience using relational and non-relational databases.
• Strong experience with an agile framework/methodology.
• Excellent collaboration skills, positive attitude, high energy, and motivation.
• Adept in building team relationships and partnering across organizational lines.
• Expert in conceptual and analytical skills with out-of-the-box problem solving abilities.
• Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and plan complex tasks in a rapidly changing environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with REST, JSON, or SOAP web interfaces.
• Experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment (CICD) methodologies.
• Experience with Chef, Puppet, or similar deployment automation products.
• Experience with Git source control management and web interfaces such as GitHub.
• Experience with Jenkins build management systems and automated testing frameworks such as Junit.
• Experience with Kafka.
• Experience with cloud technologies.
• Experience with RDBMS and non-relational databases like MongoDB or DynamoDB.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
