About the Role

As a Senior Java Developer, you will work primarily onsite with some flexible work opportunities. The role involves developing and maintaining low-latency Java applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and participating in cloud deployment and automation processes. The position requires a strong background in Java, microservices, and full-stack development within a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Work on low-latency Java applications
Implement features, fix bugs, and participate in support investigations
Collaborate closely with product management, QA, and other development team members
Learn and implement best practices in coding and design, and keep up on the latest developments with Java, J2EE/Java EE, and JavaScript frameworks such as Angular JS, React, and Amber
Participate in code and design reviews, scrum-style team meetings, and retrospectives
Contribute ideas to continually improve applications and processes
Deploy, automate, manage, and maintain cloud-based production systems
Participate in automating cloud-native technologies, deploying applications, and provisioning infrastructure

Requirements

Bachelor's degree, or its equivalent, in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related technical field
Experience with Core Java, Microservices, REST, Oracle, GIT, JUnit, Jenkins, MQ, Kafka
Strong full-stack Java development skills with excellent Object-Oriented design, Java EE, messaging, and database development
Experience with relational databases like Oracle or DB2 and SQL
Solid knowledge of core Java 11+, multithreading, concurrency, transactions, Spring/Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA/JDBC
Knowledge of a Linux environment and command-line tools
Experience with message systems like IBM MQ and Kafka
Development of front-end and back-end applications architecture, web application servers like Tomcat, Jetty, JBoss
Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, XML, JavaScript
Familiarity with development tools such as Eclipse, Git, Gradle, Sonar, Jenkins, Jira, Artifactory
Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD models
Ability to write clean, testable, and efficient code
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively

Nice to Have

Experience with web frameworks like React JS
Interest in low-latency or high-volume real-time systems
Experience with web services using SOAP

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related technical field
