About the Role

ALTA IT Services is seeking a hands-on Technical Architect with solid Java and Spring Boot expertise to lead the evolution of a high-scale, distributed microservices platform for an automotive customer in Auburn Hills, MI. The role involves architecting scalable microservices, secure APIs, event-driven systems, and cloud-native solutions on AWS, with a focus on observability and modern architecture patterns. This is a 12-month+ contract with potential for extension, requiring onsite presence three days a week.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development of a scalable microservices ecosystem using Java and Spring Boot.
Design and implement secure API architectures with advanced authentication patterns.
Develop event-driven systems leveraging MQTT, Kafka, and RabbitMQ.
Build cloud-native solutions on AWS utilizing Docker and Kubernetes.
Implement observability platforms using Kibana, Grafana, and CloudWatch.
Provide architecture leadership and collaborate with teams and stakeholders to ensure technical excellence.

Requirements

15+ years of enterprise backend development experience.
5-7 years of proven architecture leadership experience.
Deep expertise in Java, Spring ecosystem, and cloud architecture.
Excellent communication skills to inspire teams and stakeholders.

Nice to Have

Experience with microservices architecture in automotive or similar industries.
Knowledge of MQTT, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS cloud services.
Experience with observability tools such as Kibana, Grafana, and CloudWatch.

Qualifications

Proven experience in enterprise backend development and architecture.
Strong technical expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
Experience with cloud-native solutions and microservices design.
