About the Role

EHI EHR is a forward-thinking healthcare technology company focused on developing software that improves patient care through innovation, automation, and AI-driven solutions. We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer to help us build and maintain healthcare applications, web platforms, and APIs. This role offers the opportunity to work on real-world healthcare data problems, from backend services to user-facing applications.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs and backend services (primarily in Python with Flask).
Write clean, maintainable code for data processing, reporting, and automation tasks.
Build simple, effective web interfaces using HTML/CSS/JavaScript and React.
Develop SQL queries for data retrieval, reporting, and analysis.
Work with third-party APIs and services, including healthcare-specific integrations.
Implement and maintain authentication systems, including OAuth and token-based security.
Assist in writing clear technical documentation and contributing to internal best practices.
Participate in code reviews and collaborative problem-solving sessions.
Apply logging, monitoring, and debugging tools to ensure application stability.

Requirements

Proficiency in Python (Flask, requests, data handling, API integration).
Solid understanding of SQL (data modeling, querying, aggregation).
Basic proficiency in web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React preferred).
Understanding of REST APIs, authentication methods (Bearer tokens, OAuth).
Familiarity with HTTP methods (GET, POST) and status codes.
Comfort working with JSON, API response handling, and parsing data structures.
Familiarity with software best practices: Git, version control, clean code principles.
Interest in healthcare technology and handling sensitive data securely.

Nice to Have

Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems or healthcare software.
Understanding of task scheduling, automation scripts, and server maintenance.
Exposure to AI/ML tools such as OpenAI, LLaMA, or other LLMs.
Knowledge of logging frameworks and structured error tracking.
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
