About the Role

The Technology for the Chief Operating Office (TCOO) organization provides technology services for the Chief Operating Office, supporting operations, control executives, strategic execution, business continuity and resiliency, data solutions and services, regulatory relations, customer experience, enterprise shared services, supply chain management, and the corporate properties group. TCOO manages application portfolios to support modernization and optimization. The company is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to solve complex problems through innovation, drive technology transformation, and advance AI solutions across platforms including document processing and prompt engineering, supporting multiple lines of business and integrating cloud and on-premise solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
  • Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering large-scale technology solutions
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document projects and programs
  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives and technical challenges
  • Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions
  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology teams, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues
  • Execute the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation and innovative solutions
  • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies, recommending innovations to enhance operations
  • Strategically engage with professionals across the enterprise and serve as an expert
  • Architect and deploy solutions on-premise and on Google Cloud (GCP), ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • 5+ years of experience in Relational Databases (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, or others)
  • 5+ years of experience working with analyzing and interpreting large datasets
  • 5+ years of experience with performance tuning and performance optimization
  • 5+ years of data modeling experience
  • 5+ years of data security and design experience
  • 5+ years of gathering user requirements, designing, and building distributed computing solutions using Test Driven Development (TDD)
  • 5+ years of working with DevOps tools (Git, Automation Deployment toolkits)
  • 5+ years working in an Agile development environment

Nice to Have

  • 5+ years of financial industry experience
  • Experience with modeling tools like Erwin, PowerDesigner, etc.
  • Experience with Python, Spark, Kafka, Apache Flink, Apache Storm, Kubernetes, Docker
  • Experience working with Data Microservices
  • Experience with NoSQL and Graph databases
  • Experience with configuration and monitoring technologies such as Ansible, Grafana, ElasticAPM, Splunk, Prometheus, or AppDynamics
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes platforms
  • Google / Azure / Amazon Cloud certifications
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
