Lead Java Developer - Payments Transformation

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
• Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
• Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
• Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges
• Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions, influencing and leading technology teams
• Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues
• Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor

Requirements

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
• 5+ years of full stack software engineering experience
• 5+ years of J2EE experience (including RESTful or SOAP web services)
• 5+ years of JMS (Java Message Service) experience
• 4+ years of Kafka Platform experience, Confluent Platform experience, or both
• 3+ years of MongoDB experience
• 3+ years of experience with secure DevOps and deployment automation to cloud environments
• 3+ years of experience with Test Automation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, self-directed, self-motivated, quick learner
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills

Nice to Have

• 5+ years of experience with Banking / Financial Services
• 4-year Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field
• Banking and payment applications knowledge and ISO messages type
• Knowledge and understanding of technology architecture: distributed and client server technologies
• Knowledge and understanding of AI technology
• Proficient in Microservices architecture
• Proficient in monitoring and observability tools like Splunk and Grafana
• Strong understanding of middleware and application server concepts like Integration, Transactions and XA transaction, Security, Connection pooling, Load balancing and Messaging; clustered server environment
• Familiar with system performance related tasks
• Agile experience
