About the Role

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Cybersecurity to join Engineering & Architecture and contribute to technology advancement. The Automation Governance Services (AGS) Engineering team is seeking a visionary leader in the automation space to help drive innovation and enhance automation capabilities within the Cybersecurity organization. This role requires a highly skilled professional with a strong foundation in application development, with a deep understanding of the principles of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, engineer, and develop complex automation solutions to simplify manually intensive tasks
  • Produce automation solutions that leverage Generative AI Technology
  • Drive the implementation of innovative solutions across multiple Cybersecurity domains
  • Interact with Engineering and Architecture peers to devise solutions that align with enterprise technology strategy
  • Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
  • Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
  • Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
  • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • 5+ years of professional experience in leading software development designing, building, and deploying applications
  • 5+ years of Full stack development experience
  • Proficiency in Python (Django, Flask) and Node.js, with a solid understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Experience in building RESTful APIs, microservices, and server-side applications
  • Database Knowledge: Proficiency in working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis)
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and familiarity with DevOps practices
  • Strong experience with Git and version control workflows
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Basic understanding of front-end technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
  • Experience in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, PyTest, or others
  • Industry standard Cyber Security certification - i.e. CISSP, SANS certification, CISM etc.
  • Experience working with Gen AI and developing AI Models
  • Gen AI Tools and Frameworks - ex: Agentic AI, Lang Chain and embedding workflows
  • Ability to work independently and also lead engineering design and development of complex AI solutions
